Story 97
A Bird in Hand is Worth Two in the Bush
Here is a story by which
I found a great soul mate. He was beyond my imagination. When ever I spoke
to him my senses were numbed.
I have been chatting for
3 years on a chat site called pal talk but but most of the members I met
wanted sex or romance. I was chatting to find a friend, a soul mate. I
was actually disturbed by my other chat experiences and had quit chatting
for some time.
On that wonderful day I created
a new nick name and just logged in. Immediately comes a message flashing.
He said he was 49 and was married and was new to chatting and was chatting
just to make friends. It was slightly unbelievable for me because
I am seeing a very contented
man for the first time. Our progress was very fast. He wanted to make sure
I am female so asked for a voice chat which I accepted. He wanted to see
my picture. I was not sure if I could send my picture so I told him he
could see me on his screen for a quick minute. He was surprised.
I turned on my camera and let him see me. He told me he did not have his
pictures right away but would send to my email id. So we exchanged ids
and said bye. At that point I had no particular feeling in my heart. I
thought one more dead end, but the next day I saw his picture on my email
id with a beautiful note inviting me to join chat again.
We chatted for about an hour
and suddenly he told me he was coming to the USA for a business meeting
and wanted to see me. I was not prepared for this. I dodged the subject
for several days. One day he confronted me. He said: look, if u have no
desire to meet me, tell so. Do not keep dodging. I said I need time to
work on this. I quietly sat back and thought and decided to make it to
meet him. He sent me a copy of his itinerary and all other details. I could
not believe my eyes. I had a doubt can this be a dead end? I called
his hotel to validate his information and they were all correct. I was
totally dumbstuck.
Then I made up my mind I
should meet my mysterious friend. I asked him to meet me at the airport.
My heart missed a beat when I got down. What if he is just another lusty
man who just tried to impress me? He was at the airport for me. He was
the same person as I knew him. And to him I was the same person as he knew
me. There was silence between us for a very long time. Then we spoke for
hours and got to know each other better.
The day we were supposed
to leave there was tragedy in USA so both of us could not go back. God
gave us some more time to talk to each other. So we had live chats then
we parted as friends. I think it was little more than a friend. A platonic
soul mate? Now I see no need to chat to make more friends.
A BIRD IN HAND IS WORTH TWO
IN THE BUSH
Long live our friendship.
