71 - American Singles
I had just broken up with
my boyfriend (whom I caught in bed with another woman) and had recently
moved to south Texas to live with my parents. I didn't know anybody in
the area, so I decided to go to American Singles and place an ad to meet
people. I described myself as weird and sarcastic.

72 - Vietnamese Love Over AOL
The whole story started
when him (Jack) and I met through a Vietnamese school, at the time I was
around 10 years old and he was 14. We never talked to each other during
school or out of school but we knew each others' names. He ended up quiting
the school when the teacher left and so did I. Four years later, July of
1999 I was just chatting to my AOL net friends on a different screename
(NautyVietBaby) and an instant messanger popped up.

My friend created an account
for me in ICQ and I started chatting last December 27, 1998. I used to
do random seeking and suddenly a nick "skunk" appeared like magic on the
screen, not knowing that this was someone I would love unconditionally
one day.

I didn't believe in finding
love online. I thought it was full of perverts, rapists, etc. One day,
I was in a chat room, just bored out of my mind, because I was visiting
my brother in Seattle and he was currently at work. So, I just put "Anyone
wanna chat?" Little did I know that the man of my dreams would reply me.

It's nice to see that there
are still many places available for internet relationships to flourish.
Even today, when I tell new friends how me and my wife, Sue met, we receive
the good old "oh yeahhh" accompanied by a half-hearted smile and awkward
silence.

I was trying to put the
pieces of my shattered life back together after the death of my husband
by a sudden fatal heart attack. It took months until I decided to go on

someday and I was leaving it all up to him!
