TRUE STORIES 11-20

Story 11 - Lily Among Thorns
A fairy-like girl speaks with unusual sensitivity about Internet relationships, men's dreams, behavior in chat lines and, about what being a woman means for her in cyberspace.  She explains her thoughts about the meaning of beauty as well as her love story with a superb Italian man she met online. For boys: a must read.  The interview reveals the secret of how you can make a conquest of a beautiful girl over the net. Do you think it is impossible?  Her story is the evidence to the contrary.

Story 12 -  I Knew It Would Be Her
When Krisztina and Robert first met both of them were already deeply in love. It is true though, that by that time they had been "virtually living together" for almost a whole year. They were extremely creative expressing their caring for each other, overcoming the barrier of long distance, all the while setting all-time records in tele-communications. I am glad to finally report a story with a happy ending. In real life the couple lives in Toronto. This is a great achievement after the long, and sometimes extremely hard and exhausting tele-relationship.  Read the story and look at the attached photos taken of their happiest days.

Story 13 - It's a Great Feeling to Belong
The author of this letter is an open-minded young lady who often uses IRC, who in response to previously published stories adds her own of not looking for love but rather friendship, and finding it on the net.

Story 14 -  Friends: Real and Virtual
"…as I imagine for many, my life was also changed by the net, in fact, I could say it changed me!…" a once shy and introverted girl begins her letter.   How they personalized their internet romance is well detailed in a story written by her of the complicated triangle (or was it a square?).  In this story there is jealousy, excessive virtualization, the limitations we set with prejudices and finally of a comfortable and lasting relationship.

Story 15 -  From Chat to the Wedding

Internet romance was the topic in the Internetto discussion board when someone asked the question: does anyone know a married couple who met on the internet?  Of course, us for instance, responded Viktoria and Geza.  They've sent me their story and pictures of their wedding.  "We wish all couples who met on the internet the same kind of unclouded joy that we have and are experiencing each day" is Victoria's message for the readers of this column. With photo.

Story 16 - Snail on Sandpaper
Since the last ten years of my life were spent in the fashion of "Saturday Night Fever" it is no surprise that my relationships were not long lasting or meaningful.  It made sense then to attempt enlisting the use of 20th century technology where a relationship can begin without the usual limitations of appearance.  This confession from Sanyi, who did not give up despite numerous misunderstandings and his dedication was justified as he has found the girl he's been looking for. Photo attached.

Story 17 - Go Carefully with Chatters
A colorful page about the location of the virtual dates – the chat rooms.  One reader's comments and recommendations for beginners about the shady side of chat rooms and its potential dangers.  A useful supplement: a caricature that speaks volumes, a one minute check-list for chat, recommendations for Hungarian chat with live buttons!

Story 18 - A Website Dedicated to the Love of My Life
"Everybody asks the same first question:  did you really meet on the Internet?  It feels so wonderful then to smile and tell them, yes.  It is possible for such a pure and deep love to begin in such a place where the primary emphasis is on the partners ‘inner’ beauty – tells Zoli, who met his sweetheart on the internet and gave her an unusual Christmas present – a lovers web page.  Zoli and Brigi tell their story of how they met.

Story 19 - Enemies to Lovers
Not much different from the story line of "You've Got Mail" where a Hungarian student uses the help of the internet to win the love of the girl who seemed impossible to reach.  "Really, a few clicks on the mouse can certainly change your life!"

Story 20 -  Lost in the Maze of the Virtual and Real Desires
"I was experiencing the most wonderful romance that began three months before on the internet and was about to break out of its cyber prison."  The stomach trembles, the throat is tight, mouth is dry - a wonderful feeling.  It is difficult, but I will try to translate into words, these feelings of passionate roller coaster that no one knows where they begin and how they will end.  Reading Yvette's well written lines you'll meet two successful people and hear about their touching net romance.
